It's annoying to search for those spices and herbs you need to pull out of a dish when it is cooked.
Here is a suggestion for you. Make a slice in an onion and stick the bay leaf in it. Press the peppercorns in it so they stick. After it's cooked take out the onion and everything comes with it.
Arrange the meatballs in a pan.
Cover them with tomato sauce. I left the sauce chunky, this way there is more flavor.
Bake as it is, no need to cook the meatballs first.
Serve with Parmesan cheese.
