Have you ever noticed when you don't get enough sleep your body has more cravings for comfort food? 


Have you also noticed how much easier it is to come up with an excuse not to challenge yourself while exercising, or even skip it when you're tired?


So, the answer is yes, it's true! When we don't get enough sleep it's not only more difficult to lose weight, but it often leads to weight gain.


Why? When we are sleep deprived we tend to:


-increase late-night snacking


-choose high carb and high fat snacks


-eat bigger portions at mealtimes 


Another major reason is, a lack of sleep triggers the production of a hormone that tells your body to store fat.

-Shut off your phone, tv, and computer at least one hour before bed


-Create a calming routine. Try getting cozy with some relaxing music and a good book.


-Commit to going to bed and waking up at the same time everyday
